Junior Caminero's two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth gave the Tampa Bay Rays a 3-1 win over the Houston Astros on Friday night at Tropicana Field.
Houston scored first in the top of the fourth when Yainer Diaz grounded into a force out and Isaac Paredes came home. Victor Mesa Jr. tied it in the fifth with a homer to right-center. The game stayed 1-1 until the ninth, when Caminero homered to left-center with Jonny DeLuca aboard to end it.
Bryan Baker earned the win with a scoreless ninth. Bryan Abreu took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning.
Houston opened with Miguel Ullola, who pitched one scoreless inning without allowing a hit or a walk. Ethan Pecko followed with 5.2 innings, giving up one run on one hit with two walks and four strikeouts. Tampa Bay starter Drew Rasmussen went seven innings and allowed one run on eight hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
Diaz went 2 for 3 with a walk and an RBI for Houston, which had nine hits but scored once. Caminero finished with two RBIs, and Mesa Jr. had a homer, a walk and a stolen base for the Rays, who had four hits. Attendance was 16,217.
