The Yankees held the Mets to three hits and won 2-0 on Sunday at Yankee Stadium in a game that included a 21-minute delay.
Ben Rice homered to right field in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead, and Austin Wells homered to right center in the third to make it 2-0. Neither team scored again.
Cam Schlittler earned the win, allowing one hit over 6.0 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts. Brent Headrick and Paul Blackburn each worked a scoreless inning, and David Bednar recorded the save.
Christian Scott took the loss for the Mets. He went 6.0 innings and allowed two runs on three hits, both runs on the home runs, with two walks and seven strikeouts. Nate Lavender and Austin Warren followed with a hitless inning apiece.
Bo Bichette, Francisco Alvarez and Brett Baty had the Mets' hits, Baty's a double. Juan Soto went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, and Francisco Lindor walked once and struck out twice. The Mets struck out 10 times as a team.
Rice and Wells had two of the Yankees' three hits; Spencer Jones had the other. Aaron Judge went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts. Attendance was 45,508.
