Yankees hold off Mets 6-4 behind Bellinger's three-run homer
Cody Bellinger and Ben Rice homered, Carlos Rodón struck out eight, and David Bednar survived a ninth-inning homer to close it.

WHERE IT TURNED
The New York Yankees beat the New York Mets 6-4 on Friday night at Yankee Stadium, building a 5-1 lead and then holding on through three late Mets runs.
Spencer Jones singled home Ben Rice in the bottom of the first. The Mets tied it in the second on a Christopher Morel groundout that scored Mark Vientos, but Cody Bellinger answered in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer to right-center, scoring Anthony Volpe and Rice for a 4-1 lead. Rice homered to left-center in the fifth to make it 5-1.
The Mets got a run in the seventh on A.J. Ewing's single that scored Carson Benge and another in the eighth on a Marcus Semien sacrifice fly. Ryan McMahon's single scored José Caballero in the bottom of the eighth for a 6-3 lead, and Ewing homered to right in the ninth for the final margin.
Carlos Rodón earned the win, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Nolan McLean took the loss after giving up five runs on 10 hits with one walk and five strikeouts in five innings. David Bednar recorded the save.
Rice went 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Bellinger was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Luis García Jr. had three hits, and Jones had two hits. Ewing finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Mets. Attendance was 47,410.
