The Miami Marlins beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at loanDepot park.
Mookie Betts and Max Muncy homered in the top of the first, Betts to left-center and Muncy to center, for a 2-0 Los Angeles lead. Miami answered in the second: Graham Pauley hit a two-run homer to right-center that scored Owen Caissie, and Otto Lopez singled home Heriberto Hernández for a 3-2 lead.
In the fifth, Javier Sanoja reached on a fielder's choice and Griffin Conine scored on a throwing error by shortstop Betts to make it 4-2. The Dodgers got one back in the ninth when Hunter Feduccia singled in Josue De Paula, but Pete Fairbanks finished it for the save.
Cade Gibson earned the win with 1 1/3 hitless innings. Tyler Glasnow took the loss after allowing 4 runs on 5 hits in 4 innings with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. Tyler Phillips started for Miami and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits, both homers, in 3 2/3 innings with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Tyler Zuber, Calvin Faucher and Michael Petersen each pitched a scoreless inning ahead of Fairbanks, who allowed 1 run on 1 hit and a walk in the ninth.
Conine went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, and Lopez was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Pauley's homer accounted for his 2 RBIs. The Dodgers finished with 4 hits and 5 walks; Miami had 7 hits. Attendance was 34,814.
