Diamondbacks score nine in two innings, rout Rangers 9-1
Ketel Marte drove in three with two doubles, and Arizona scored four in the fifth and five in the sixth at Chase Field.

The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Texas Rangers 9-1 on Friday night at Chase Field, scoring all nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Texas led 1-0 after Joc Pederson doubled to right in the top of the fifth to score Jake Burger. Arizona answered with four in the bottom of the inning: Ildemaro Vargas hit a ground-rule double to score Jordan Lawlar, Ketel Marte doubled to left to bring in Ryan Waldschmidt and Vargas, and Gabriel Moreno singled home Marte for a 4-1 lead.
The sixth brought five more. Marte doubled again to score Waldschmidt, Moreno singled in Marte, Corbin Carroll hit a two-run homer to left-center that scored Moreno, and Nolan Arenado followed with a homer to left for the final margin.
Kevin Ginkel earned the win with two-thirds of an inning in relief. MacKenzie Gore took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts in four innings. Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly went 4.1 innings and gave up one run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Marte went 2 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Moreno was 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Vargas had two hits, and Arenado went 2 for 3 with a homer and a double. Carroll drove in two. Pederson had two hits for Texas, which finished with five hits. Attendance was 32,849.
