Mississippi State beat Minnesota 38-13 on Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Kamario Taylor's 22-yard pass to Zion Ragins at 13:12 of the first quarter put the Bulldogs ahead. Luke Drzewiecki's 44-yard field goal at 2:58 cut it to 7-3, and Fluff Bothwell's 5-yard run with 0:22 left made it 14-3. Taylor threw touchdown passes of 30 yards to Sanfrisco Magee at 11:27 of the second and 15 yards to Anthony Evans III at 4:32 for a 28-3 lead; Drzewiecki's 41-yard kick as the half ended made it 28-6.
Minnesota's only touchdown came at 11:01 of the third, when Aydan West recovered a fumble for a score. Kyle Ferrie's 52-yard field goal at 9:53 and Bothwell's 3-yard run at 12:32 of the fourth closed it out.
Taylor completed 16 of 22 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns. Evans caught 7 passes for 121 yards, and Bothwell ran 18 times for 113 yards and two scores. Mississippi State rushed for 252 yards and finished with 479 total. Drake Lindsey was 31 of 48 for 279 yards for Minnesota, which gained 13 yards on 15 rushing attempts and was penalized 12 times for 115 yards. Attendance was 48,048.
