Baylor beat Prairie View A&M 44-3 on Saturday night at McLane Stadium in Waco.
Prairie View led briefly on Ethan Eddins' 25-yard field goal at 10:58 of the first quarter. Rhett Armstrong tied it with a 46-yard kick at 8:20, Caden Knighten ran in from 5 yards at 4:22, and Nate Bennett's 33-yard pass to Jayden McGowan with 0:59 left made it 17-3. Bennett threw 22 yards to Dre'lon Miller at 13:51 of the second and ran 17 yards for a score at 12:55; Armstrong's 45-yard field goal at 4:10 made it 34-3 at halftime. McGowan's 13-yard run at 1:39 of the third and Armstrong's 22-yard field goal at 8:42 of the fourth finished it.
Bennett completed 23 of 35 passes for 301 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Gavin Freeman caught 10 passes for 104 yards, and Dawson Pendergrass led the rushing with 69 yards on 15 carries. Baylor finished with 552 total yards and 32 first downs but committed three turnovers. Prairie View gained 110 yards and 7 first downs; Tevin Carter was 14 of 25 for 74 yards. Attendance was 38,642.
