NC State shut out Richmond 73-0 on Friday at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.
The Wolfpack scored on a 19-yard run by Davion Gause at 11:21 of the first quarter and runs of 65 and 7 yards by Jayden Scott at 10:44 and 1:01 for a 21-0 lead. CJ Bailey's 1-yard run at 11:33 of the second, Will Wilson's 1-yard run at 8:30, Bailey's 15-yard pass to Preston Douglas at 6:23 and another 1-yard Wilson run at 0:24 made it 49-0 at halftime. Wilson ran in from 5 yards at 9:04 of the third and threw 3 yards to Hunter Provience at 4:12. Kanoah Vinesett's 45-yard field goal at 6:31 of the fourth and Dylan McCoy's 51-yard run at 1:49 completed the scoring.
Bailey completed 13 of 17 passes for 281 yards and a touchdown; Keenan Jackson caught 4 for 123 yards, and Scott ran 9 times for 128 yards. NC State finished with 734 total yards, 428 of them rushing on 45 attempts, 31 first downs and 37:43 of possession, and converted 8 of 10 third downs.
Richmond gained 110 yards and 6 first downs. Ashten Snelsire was 8 of 23 for 76 yards with an interception, Warrick Stephenson ran 14 times for 58 yards, and the Spiders converted 2 of 13 third downs and turned it over twice. Attendance was 56,919.
