No. 19 Washington holds off Utah State 16-14 on Tyler Robles' three field goals

WHERE IT TURNED

No. 19 Washington beat Utah State 16-14 on Saturday at Husky Stadium in a game with no scoring in the first or third quarter.

Tyler Robles opened it with a 30-yard field goal at 11:35 of the second quarter. Utah State answered at 11:19 when Grady Brosterhous hit Javon Robinson for a 78-yard touchdown and a 7-3 lead. Ansu Sanoe's 1-yard run at 6:41 put Washington back in front 10-7 at halftime.

Neither team scored in the third. Robles added a 26-yard field goal at 12:54 of the fourth and a 43-yarder at 6:28 to make it 16-7. Brosterhous found Eli Wood from 7 yards out with 1:50 left to cut it to 16-14, and that was the final.

Demond Williams Jr. went 26 of 41 for 249 yards and ran 11 times for 56 yards; Dezmen Roebuck had seven catches for 59 yards. Brosterhous finished 17 of 28 for 196 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions and led the Aggies with 81 rushing yards on 21 carries. Robinson caught three passes for 100 yards. Alex McLaughlin had two sacks and nine tackles for Washington.

Washington held the ball for 35:05, finished with 356 total yards to Utah State's 271, and did not turn the ball over. The Huskies went 6 of 17 on third down; the Aggies were 6 of 13. Attendance was 62,152.
