Boise State rallies past Memphis 38-20 with three second-half touchdowns

Boise State beat Memphis 38-20 on Saturday at Albertsons Stadium after trailing 20-17 at halftime.
Canaan Moore's 39-yard field goal at 9:37 of the first quarter gave Boise State the early lead, but Marcus Stokes hit Hunter Tipton for an 87-yard touchdown at 2:14 to put Memphis ahead 7-3. Philippe Laforge kicked a 33-yard field goal at 9:33 of the second, and Jaylin Carter broke an 80-yard run at 7:10 for a 17-3 Memphis lead. The Broncos answered with Akeem Wright's 37-yard catch from Maddux Madsen at 2:28 and Rasean Jones' 19-yard run at 1:07 to tie it, and Laforge's 36-yard field goal as the half expired put Memphis up 20-17.
Sire Gaines ran 11 yards for a touchdown at 8:06 of the third to give Boise State the lead for good, and Cam Bates returned a punt 72 yards at 6:27 for a 31-20 edge. Madsen's 1-yard run at 13:30 of the fourth closed it out.
Dylan Riley ran 19 times for 206 yards, and Boise State finished with 357 rushing yards and 578 in total while holding the ball for 39:56. Madsen was 17 of 28 for 221 yards. Stokes threw for 384 yards on 17 of 25 with one interception; Tipton caught nine passes for 229 yards. Memphis converted 1 of 8 third downs. Attendance was 34,439.
