Colorado State piles up 678 yards in 58-24 win over Southern Utah
Hauss Hejny threw four touchdowns and ran 75 yards for another, and the Rams scored 31 points in the second quarter at Canvas Stadium.

Colorado State beat Southern Utah 58-24 on Saturday at Canvas Stadium, scoring 31 points in the second quarter alone.
Hauss Hejny opened with touchdown passes of 68 yards to Cedric Ross at 14:13 and 38 yards to Terrence Smith Jr. at 13:21 of the first quarter. Will Burns answered with an 18-yard throw to David Spjut at 9:10, and Kali Nguma's 40-yard field goal made it 17-7 after one.
Mel Brown's 1-yard run at 12:58 of the second pushed the lead to 24-7 before Floyd Chalk ran 58 yards at 9:57 and 3 yards at 4:12 to pull the Thunderbirds within 24-21. The Rams then scored four times before the half: Brown's 73-yard run at 3:24, Hejny's 17-yard pass to Jackson Harper at 1:54, his 33-yard throw to Smith at 0:32 and Nguma's 51-yard field goal at 0:03 for a 48-21 lead.
Nguma added a 23-yarder in the third. Jayden Rogers kicked a 37-yard field goal at 12:44 of the fourth, and Hejny ran 75 yards for the final score at 12:31.
Hejny finished 18 of 30 for 325 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Brown ran nine times for 171 yards and two scores; Harper caught six passes for 102 yards. Chalk had 144 yards on 17 carries for Southern Utah, and Mark Bails caught four passes for 138 yards, but the Thunderbirds turned the ball over four times. Attendance was 35,749.
