Fresno State beat Sacramento State 49-3 on Saturday night at Valley Children's Stadium. The first quarter was scoreless; the Bulldogs then scored 32 points in the second.
Jayden Mandal threw 18 yards to Rayshon Luke at 14:53 and 73 yards to Ezekiel Avit at 11:58, the second followed by a two-point pass to Gavin Correia for a 15-0 lead. Mandal's 1-yard run at 6:19 and Bryson Donelson's 11-yard run at 1:28 made it 29-0, and Manaki Watanabe kicked a 51-yard field goal as the half ended.
Donelson added a 5-yard run at 9:02 of the third. Grant Meadors' 35-yard field goal at 4:50 was Sacramento State's only score, and Donelson answered with a 56-yard run at 2:43. Watanabe's 28-yard field goal at 7:09 of the fourth finished it.
Mandal completed 23 of 26 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns; Avit caught two passes for 103 yards. Donelson ran 13 times for 102 yards and three scores. Fresno State totaled 542 yards and did not turn the ball over.
Jackson Sharman was 15 of 31 for 150 yards with an interception for the Hornets, who finished with 262 yards and converted 3 of 13 third downs. Attendance was 40,198.
