Florida Atlantic holds off Navy 38-30 after Caden Veltkamp's five touchdown passes
The Owls led 38-7 in the third quarter before Navy closed to 38-30 with three late touchdowns and a safety.

Florida Atlantic beat Navy 38-30 on Saturday at Flagler Credit Union Stadium, building a 38-7 lead before the Midshipmen closed with three touchdowns and a safety.
Caden Veltkamp hit Easton Messer for a 76-yard touchdown at 14:18 of the first quarter. Braxton Woodson's 48-yard run at 13:12 tied it, and Veltkamp went back to Messer from 36 yards at 6:59 for a 14-7 lead. In the second quarter Veltkamp threw 30 yards to K. Valsin at 5:26 and 13 yards to Dominique Henry at 0:19, and Collin Rogers kicked a 60-yard field goal as the half ended for a 31-7 lead.
AJ Johnson's 5-yard catch at 2:39 of the third made it 38-7. Jackson Gutierrez then threw 64 yards to Jordan Collins at 1:16 and 8 yards to Charles Robinson at 5:41 of the fourth, a safety at 3:12 made it 38-22, and Gutierrez ran 49 yards at 1:46 and passed to Vic Listorti for two points.
Veltkamp completed 27 of 32 passes for 386 yards and five touchdowns; Messer caught eight for 179 yards. Florida Atlantic gained 42 yards on 44 rushing attempts. Gutierrez was 6 of 12 for 100 yards, and Navy ran for 246 yards, with Woodson getting 96 on 12 carries. The Midshipmen turned it over twice and converted 3 of 11 third downs. Attendance was 22,273.
