Montana State beat Nevada 20-7 on Saturday night at Mackay Stadium, holding a 17-0 lead from the second quarter until 11:38 of the fourth.
Justin Lamson threw 24 yards to D. Steel for a touchdown at 12:05 of the first quarter, and Myles Sansted added a 45-yard field goal at 1:35. Adam Jones' 6-yard run at 5:39 of the second made it 17-0. Neither team scored in the third quarter. AJ Bianco's 28-yard touchdown pass to Marshaun Brown at 11:38 of the fourth was Nevada's only score, and Sansted's 29-yard field goal at 1:10 answered it.
Lamson finished 15 of 23 for 179 yards. Jones carried 25 times for 86 yards, and Taco Dowler caught four passes for 44 yards. Montana State totaled 330 yards, did not turn the ball over, and held the ball for 32:42 while being penalized 13 times for 125 yards.
Nevada finished with 349 yards but threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. Bianco was 12 of 20 for 116 yards with a touchdown and an interception; Dominic Kelley ran 17 times for 84 yards. The Wolf Pack converted 4 of 13 third downs and 1 of 4 fourth downs. Attendance was 21,679.
