Akron beat Robert Morris 45-10 on Saturday at InfoCision Stadium, with Cibastian Broughton throwing four touchdown passes and the Zips outgaining the Colonials 523 yards to 194.
Sean Patrick's 41-yard catch from Broughton with 3:52 left in the first quarter opened the scoring. Robert Morris tied it at 7 on Carson Haggard's 43-yard throw to Galen Combs at 14:51 of the second, but Broughton answered with a 25-yard pass to Elijah Alexander at 13:19 and a 6-yard toss to Miles Burris at 5:45 for a 21-7 lead. Lucca Valens' 22-yard field goal as the half expired made it 21-10.
The Colonials did not score again. Matthew Schramm kicked a 38-yard field goal at 8:55 of the third, Jordan Gant ran in from the 1 at 5:21, Alexander caught his second touchdown from 3 yards out at 11:45 of the fourth, and Brayden Roggow closed it with a 15-yard run at 3:27.
Broughton finished 23 of 27 for 227 yards and four scores. Gant carried 12 times for 81 yards, and Patrick had four catches for 65 yards. Haggard was 19 of 28 for 179 yards for Robert Morris; Combs caught nine passes for 119 yards. Akron ran for 241 yards, held the ball for 35:14, and converted 5 of 11 third downs. Robert Morris lost two fumbles and managed 14 rushing yards on 19 attempts. Attendance was 10,032.
