FIU beats Buffalo 33-20 as JJ Kohl throws for 367 yards and catches a touchdown
Kohl threw three touchdown passes and caught a 19-yarder from Jojo Stone, and the Panthers held the ball for 38:22.

Florida International beat Buffalo 33-20 on Saturday at Pitbull Stadium, with JJ Kohl throwing for 367 yards and three touchdowns and catching another.
Kohl hit Maguire Anderson for a 45-yard score at 9:32 of the first quarter. Oliver Hautanen's 51-yard field goal at 6:27 cut it to 7-3, then Kohl caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jojo Stone at 3:37 for a 14-3 lead. Anderson's second touchdown, from 14 yards at 2:25 of the second, made it 21-3, and Hautanen kicked a 45-yarder at 1:49 to send Buffalo to halftime down 21-6.
The Bulls closed to 21-14 on Jason Wright's 2-yard pass to Chance Morrow and Wright's two-point run at 9:35 of the third. FIU answered at 8:03 when Stone caught a 68-yard touchdown from Kohl; the extra point was blocked. Robert Czeremcha added field goals of 36 yards at 3:43 and 35 yards at 8:22 of the fourth for a 33-14 lead. Morrow's 23-yard touchdown catch at 5:58 was the last score, and the two-point run failed.
Kohl finished 21 of 36. Anderson caught five passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns, and Elisha Baldridge had two sacks. Wright was 13 of 27 for 185 yards with two touchdowns and an interception; Morrow caught 11 passes for 173 yards. FIU outgained Buffalo 540 yards to 308, held the ball for 38:22, and converted 8 of 17 third downs. Buffalo turned it over three times. Attendance was 18,202.
