Central Michigan came from 10 points down to beat Colgate 13-10 on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium, in a game in which Colgate turned the ball over four times and Central Michigan three.
Colgate scored the first 10 points. Jake Stearney ran in from 3 yards at 11:48 of the second quarter, and Luke Vogeler kicked a 48-yard field goal with 0:36 left in the half. The Chippewas did not score until 0:24 remained in the third, when Angel Flores broke a 50-yard touchdown run; the extra point was blocked, leaving Colgate ahead 10-6. Vaughn Blue's 6-yard run at 7:29 of the fourth, with Caden VanHuis's kick, put Central Michigan ahead 13-10, and neither team scored again.
Flores did most of the work for the home side: 22 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown, plus 7 of 13 passing for 57 yards and an interception. Blue caught three passes for 29 yards. Central Michigan ran for 200 yards on 42 attempts and held the ball for 32:41. Stearney was 16 of 31 for 124 yards with two interceptions for Colgate, and Danny Shaban carried 22 times for 87 yards. The Raiders lost two fumbles and finished with 219 total yards to Central Michigan's 276. Trooper Price made 13 tackles for Colgate. Attendance was 19,005.
