Miami (OH) beat Holy Cross 45-7 on Saturday at Yager Stadium, scoring 42 points before halftime while David McComb completed all 13 of his passes.
McComb ran 3 yards for the first touchdown at 9:31 of the opening quarter and threw 34 yards to Christian Ross at 2:16. In the second quarter, D'Shawntae Jones scored from 2 yards at 13:35, McComb hit Damarion Witten from 10 yards at 10:31, Leo Colombi returned a blocked punt 23 yards for a touchdown at 8:26, and McComb threw 28 yards to Lynel Billups-Williams at 1:11 for a 42-0 lead.
Kellan McLaughlin's 24-yard field goal at 5:25 of the third made it 45-0. Holy Cross scored its only points with 0:30 left in the quarter, when David Lynch threw 15 yards to Lincoln Fisher.
McComb finished 13 of 13 for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Billups-Williams caught four passes for 73 yards, and Jones ran seven times for 47 yards. Lynch was 13 of 25 for 141 yards for the Crusaders, who managed 181 total yards and 40 on the ground. The RedHawks ran for 201 yards, totaled 437, held the ball for 38:19, and did not commit a turnover. Attendance was 11,126.
