Toledo beat Central Connecticut 63-10 on Saturday at the Glass Bowl, scoring 56 unanswered points after the Blue Devils' opening field goal.
Jack Hennessey's 25-yard field goal at 14:36 of the first quarter was Central Connecticut's only lead. John Alan Richter threw 4 yards to Connor Walendzak at 10:57 and 85 yards to Rico Bond at 0:52 for a 14-3 lead after one quarter. Autavius Ison's 3-yard run at 12:07 of the second, CJ Miller's 14-yard run at 8:35, and Hayden Roy's return of a blocked punt at 1:23 made it 35-3 at halftime.
Richter's 4-yard pass to Adjatay Dabbs at 9:49 of the third, Walendzak's 1-yard run at 5:16, and Khamoni Robinson's 38-yard run at 1:00 stretched it to 56-3. Mel Jacobs returned an interception 14 yards for the Blue Devils' touchdown at 12:40 of the fourth, and Walter Moses threw 40 yards to Cooper Rusk at 3:42 for the final score.
Richter finished 15 of 24 for 252 yards and three touchdowns; Bond caught four passes for 135 yards. Miller ran nine times for 56 yards. Central Connecticut managed 139 total yards, 66 through the air, and converted 4 of 16 third downs. Toledo totaled 569 yards, 256 of them rushing, and held the ball for 34:03. Attendance was 18,435.
