Massachusetts beat Sacred Heart 37-10 on Saturday at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium, with T.Y. Harding scoring on a 49-yard catch and an 82-yard punt return in the opening quarter.
Harding caught the touchdown pass from William Watson III at 14:16 of the first quarter and returned the punt at 11:44. Derek Morris kicked a 33-yard field goal at 1:40 for a 17-0 lead. Watson ran 8 yards for a touchdown with 0:21 left in the half; the extra point failed, leaving it 23-0.
Reece Adkins's 1-yard run at 11:51 of the third and Jahmad Harmon's 34-yard interception return at 10:23 made it 37-0. Sacred Heart got a 35-yard field goal from Ryan Bocklet at 5:29 of the third and Cole Snider's 1-yard run at 3:32 of the fourth.
Watson finished 9 of 10 for 152 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Griffin Jr. caught three passes for 59 yards, and Elijah Faulkner ran 11 times for 72 yards. Poochie Snyder was 11 of 16 for 77 yards with an interception for the Pioneers, who held the ball for 35:01 and ran 42 times for 143 yards but converted 3 of 13 third downs. Massachusetts totaled 315 yards to Sacred Heart's 303 and did not turn the ball over. Attendance was 14,895.
