James Madison returns three punts for touchdowns in 87-3 rout of Wagner

James Madison beat Wagner 87-3 on Saturday at Bridgeforth Stadium, scoring at least 21 points in every quarter and returning three punts for touchdowns.

Miles Halbert's 9-yard punt return at 13:31 of the first quarter opened the scoring. Johnny DiSalvatore's 40-yard field goal at 9:01 was Wagner's only score. George Pettaway ran in from 1 yard at 7:46 and again at 1:16, then from 32 yards at 13:09 of the second. Nick Herman's 15-yard run at 7:59 and Michael Scott's 76-yard punt return at 1:00 made it 42-3 at halftime.

Herman ran 77 yards at 14:20 of the third, Scott returned another punt 69 yards at 12:04, Camden Coleman threw 18 yards to Za'Ron Collins at 8:22, and Morgan Suarez kicked a 46-yard field goal at 1:52 for a 66-3 lead. Arrington Maiden threw touchdowns of 20 yards to KD Mosley at 14:39 of the fourth and 44 yards to Halbert at 6:48, and Phoenix Donghia's 1-yard run with 0:22 left set the final.

Herman finished with 132 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. Coleman was 12 of 18 for 171 yards. James Madison totaled 588 yards, 290 of them rushing, while holding the ball for only 22:36. Wagner had the ball for 37:24, gained 204 yards, lost two fumbles, and converted 6 of 19 third downs. Attendance was 25,028.
