Coastal Carolina beat Fordham 45-7 on Saturday at Brooks Stadium, with Deuce Bailey throwing three touchdown passes in the second quarter and the Chanticleers holding the Rams to 215 total yards.
Dominic Lee-Knicely's 5-yard run at 10:09 of the first quarter put Coastal Carolina up 7-0. Fordham tied it at 13:09 of the second on Gunnar Smith's 6-yard pass to Nodin Tracy, and that was the Rams' only score. Bailey then threw 65 yards to Colton Hinton at 11:11, 23 yards to Robby Washington at 5:01, and 12 yards to Clayton Coppock Jr. with 0:39 left for a 28-7 halftime lead.
Lee-Knicely ran 18 yards for his second touchdown at 9:15 of the third, and Nico Cavanillas Alti kicked a 56-yard field goal with 0:15 left in the quarter. Jaden Allen-Hendrix's 5-yard run at 10:57 of the fourth closed the scoring.
Bailey finished 12 of 25 for 203 yards and three touchdowns; Hinton caught three passes for 101 yards. Allen-Hendrix ran seven times for 58 yards as Coastal Carolina rushed for 251 yards and totaled 460. Smith was 9 of 20 for 101 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for Fordham, which turned the ball over four times, three on interceptions. The Chanticleers did not commit a turnover.
