Marshall holds off Middle Tennessee 28-26 after failed two-point try
Two fourth-quarter touchdown runs put the Herd ahead, and the Blue Raiders' conversion attempt failed with 0:50 left.

Marshall beat Middle Tennessee 28-26 on Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, scoring 14 fourth-quarter points to overturn a 20-14 deficit and then holding on when the Blue Raiders' two-point try failed with 0:50 left.
Carlos Del Rio-Wilson's 69-yard touchdown pass to Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw at 10:36 of the first quarter put Marshall up 7-0, and Kalen Woods tied it at 9:08 with a 1-yard fumble return. Dominic Bourgeois kicked a 52-yard field goal at 14:54 of the second for a 10-7 Middle Tennessee lead; Del Rio-Wilson's 4-yard run at 8:31 answered, and Bourgeois's 35-yarder at 3:50 made it 14-13 Marshall at halftime.
Roman Gagliano's 11-yard pass to Cam'ron Lacy at 5:36 of the third gave the Blue Raiders a 20-14 lead. Turner-Bradshaw's touchdown run at 12:06 of the fourth put Marshall ahead 21-20, and TJ Lester's 2-yard run at 4:18 made it 28-20. Gagliano's 15-yard pass to AJ Jones with 0:50 left cut it to 28-26, but the two-point pass failed.
Del Rio-Wilson was 7 of 8 for 92 yards and a touchdown and ran 10 times for 43 yards and a score; Turner-Bradshaw caught two passes for 79 yards. Gagliano threw 47 passes, completing 25 for 243 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Lacy caught nine for 72 yards. Middle Tennessee outgained Marshall 352 yards to 310 and held the ball for 32:46, but converted 3 of 12 third downs. Cannon Lewis made 14 tackles for the Herd. Attendance was 25,662.
