Bengals beat Buccaneers 33-27 behind five McPherson field goals and four Tampa Bay turnovers

Evan McPherson kicked field goals of 20, 55, 58 and 32 yards after a first-quarter fumble return gave Cincinnati a lead it kept the rest of the way.

WHERE IT TURNED

Cincinnati beat Tampa Bay 33-27 on Sunday at Paycor Stadium, and the Buccaneers turned the ball over four times.

Chase McLaughlin's 34-yard field goal put Tampa Bay up 3-0 at 9:09 of the first quarter. The Bengals answered with Demetrius Knight Jr.'s 27-yard fumble return at 6:18 and Joe Burrow's 2-yard pass to Mike Gesicki with 1:48 left in the quarter for a 14-3 lead. Chase Brown's 5-yard run made it 21-3 at 5:32 of the second. Bucky Irving's 10-yard run cut it to 21-10 with 1:49 to go, and Evan McPherson's 20-yard field goal with 0:06 left in the half made it 24-10.

McPherson added a 55-yarder at 10:03 of the third. Tampa Bay closed to 27-20 on McLaughlin's 51-yard kick and Josiah Trotter's 38-yard interception return with 2:16 left in the quarter. McPherson's 58-yard field goal at 14:04 of the fourth and his 32-yarder at 5:19 pushed the lead to 33-20 before Baker Mayfield's 9-yard run with 3:19 remaining set the final.

Burrow finished 25 of 35 for 254 yards with a touchdown and an interception; Gesicki caught 5 passes for 78 yards, and Brown ran 16 times for 56. Mayfield was 23 of 28 for 216 yards, and Emeka Egbuka had 5 catches for 63 yards. Trotter had a sack and 11 tackles. Cincinnati outgained Tampa Bay 351 yards to 282, converted 8 of 14 third downs and held the ball for 31:25. The Buccaneers lost four fumbles. Attendance was 66,625.
