Minnesota beat Green Bay 39-22 on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Trey Smack's 59-yard field goal at 12:11 of the first quarter put the Packers ahead, and Jordan Love's 81-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson at 7:43 made it 9-0 after the extra point failed. Will Reichard's 38-yard field goal with 1:38 left cut it to 9-3. Smack hit from 43 yards at 13:52 of the second, Carson Wentz found Justin Jefferson from 39 yards at 1:55, and Love's 2-yard pass to Watson with 0:14 left sent Green Bay into halftime up 19-10. Smack's 26-yarder at 5:09 of the third made it 22-10, and Wentz's 16-yard pass to T.J. Hockenson at 2:08 brought Minnesota within 22-17.
The Vikings took a 25-22 lead at 6:37 of the fourth on Aaron Jones Sr.'s 3-yard run and Wentz's two-point pass to Jefferson. Jordan Mason's 1-yard run at 4:48 and Wentz's 9-yard pass to Jefferson at 3:55 finished the scoring.
Wentz was 12 of 19 for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Jefferson caught 8 passes for 92 yards and two scores. Andrew Van Ginkel had 1.5 sacks. Love finished 21 of 42 for 387 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Watson had 6 catches for 147 yards. Green Bay outgained Minnesota 419 yards to 239 but converted 3 of 12 third downs, was sacked 4 times and turned the ball over twice. Minnesota was 8 of 15 on third down and held the ball for 32:58.
