Houston Texans Week 3 Recap: Analytics, Injuries, Betting & Fantasy

Game result: Lost 10-17 at Jacksonville. C.J. Stroud threw for 204 yards, two interceptions and one touchdown. Houston’s defense kept the game close despite three turnovers.

Analytics: Houston ranks last in the league with 13.0 points per game. Their offense averages only 4.5 yards per play. Stroud’s yards per attempt (6.4) must improve, and the Texans converted just one of 12 third downs.

Injuries: Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. left with an abdomen injury. No offensive injuries were reported.

Betting: Jacksonville was favored by 1.5 points and won by seven; the Texans failed to cover. The total went under the 43.5-point line.

Fantasy: Nico Collins remained the bright spot with 104 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions; he’s a solid WR3 even with Stroud’s struggles. Dameon Pierce continues to share carries and is a flex play.
