San Francisco 49ers Week 4 Recap: Analytics, Injuries, Betting & Fantasy
Full team dashboard: San Francisco 49ers
Game result: San Francisco suffered their first loss, 21–26 to Jacksonville at home. The 49ers offense couldn’t overcome 3 turnovers as the Jaguars’ defense came up big.
Analytics: The 49ers totaled 365 yards but turnovers proved costly in all the wrong moments. Brock Purdy threw for 278 yards and 2 TDs but the fumbles were backbreakers. Jacksonville’s defense forced 3 fourth-quarter turnovers (their third straight game with 3+ takeaways). The 49ers converted just 5-of-14 third downs and couldn’t sustain late drives. SF’s defense allowed 348 yards and couldn’t generate enough pressure.
Injuries: Star DE Nick Bosa is out for the season with a torn ACL – a devastating blow to the pass rush. LB Fred Warner said losing Bosa is losing one of the best players on the planet. The 49ers must now figure out how to generate pressure without their superstar.
Betting: San Francisco was a 3.5-point favorite but lost outright, falling to 3-1 ATS. The under (46.5) hit as both defenses tightened late.
Fantasy: Brock Purdy threw for 278 yards and 2 TDs but the turnovers are concerning (QB2). Deebo Samuel had 95 yards and a TD (WR2). Brandon Aiyuk caught a TD (WR2). Christian McCaffrey rushed for 78 yards (RB1 locked in). George Kittle had 65 yards (TE1).
